Assalamualaikum all,
InsyAllah, the society will be celebrating Brunei's 27th National day on March the 5th 2011 at the Griffiths Lecture Theatre. The committee is encouraging you to invite guests outside of the society, but please do make sure you inform committee members beforehand regarding the number of guests you will be bringing along.
On top of the food and refreshments that will be provided by the committee, everyone is welcome to bring food for sharing on this joyous occassion :)
Dress code for those who can are Cara Melayu for the men and Baju Kurong (Or Kebaya if you dare!) for the ladies. Of course, if you have anything more traditional and patriotic we would love to see it on that day!
InsyAllah the day will go as follows.
1300-1330: Arrival of members and guests
1330-1350: Ceremony opening with the recitation of AlFatihah and a short speech from our President
1350-1400: Lagu Kebangsaan and recitation of Iqrar
1400-1430: Performances
1430-1600: Doa Selamat followed by food, games, prizes and overall banter!
The day's itinerary has not been finalised, but we assure you that the day will be full of fun and enlightening activities that will strengthen our patriotic sentiments. Please keep posted for the finalised itinerary as some significant changes might occur.
