It was a blessed event held by the Islamic Society on campus in University hall at 8AM with our muslim brothers and sister. A few came to represent their society - Malaysian Society,   At the end of the prayer, Ustaz Dr Husna gave a talk titles "Women in Islam". 

A bit of the talk below:

A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet (PBUH) said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father. 

‘Abdullah: I asked the Prophet “Which deed is the dearest to God?” He replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.” I asked, “What is the next (in goodness)?” He replied, “To be good and dutiful to your parents"

Annual Group Meeting 2013/2014 " Meet and greet "

Assalamualaikum, 

Its another new beginning for us seniors and juniors in BruSurrey, as this year we gained nine new members to our mini family and shared some memories of the few who have left us :'(. We are a big loving family with a mission to reunite all Bruneians studying in Surrey. At the event we opened up some new committee positions - Photographer, Info-sec and a religious officer. 

Unfortunately, we didn't take any photographs during out first event at the 
Annual Group Meeting.

Majlis Khatam Al-Quran & Solat Hajat for 2012/2013

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Week before 2^nd semester exam starts, Alhamdulillah, BruSurrey had successfully held solat Hajat, together with majlis khatam Al-Quran by the students.

Date: Saturday, 11^th May 2013,

Time: 12pm

Place: Manor Park Conference Room

Summary of the event:

• Solat Zuhur berjemaah followed by solat Hajat led by Muiz Mahli.
• Khatam Al-Quran & Takhtim
• Sharing session
• BruSurrey Masterchef Challenge
• Activity: secret love letter

There are tears and comforting others. A lot of laughter. It was a nice closure for 2012/2013 events. An official one.

iGala performances

Assalamu'alaikum and greetings everyone!

For the first time BruSurrey had participated in an international gala performances at the university.

Alhamdulillah, the performances went well. Many thanks to our backstage crew, helping sorting out props apa. If there weren’t these people, the play will be inda betantu.

The screenplay, directed by Muiz Hasbi and Hafizuddin Hassan, was about the legends of Brunei in the early times.

The legends played:

•  Sultan Muhammad Shah (Awang Alak Betatar)
•    Sultan Sharif Ali
•  Sultan Bolkiah & his wife Puteri Lela Menchanai
• civil war between Sultan Abdul Hakkul Mubin and Sultan Muhyiddin.
